DIRECTOR’S STATEMENT
Contour could be seen as an exercise in minimalism. A one-man crew. One lens. Shoestring budget. But for me it's more than that. It's three years of my life. What started as an exhortation to myself to keep going in my filmmaking journey later became a conduit for expressing the crushing weight of grief my family and I had been going through. A change in life circumstances fundamentally altered the narrative structure of the entire film, turning it from a mantra to an elegy. In this sense, the film is a love letter to all the lost souls of the world.
